What To Consider When Buying A 1 Man Tent

1 man tent sales are as high as ever, despite the changing society and environment we now have. There have always been people who feel a need to get away from it all and have a few quiet hours or even days in solitude, and that is not likely to change. What has changed slightly is the structure and manufacture of these tents. Now, we are seeing a move away from the traditional pole tent towards a new kind of dome tent, and there are several advantages inherent in these. The old style tents are still available, though, and are made with new materials.

People who have been camping for a long time will almost certainly be familiar with the traditional tent created with a frame of poles. These tents have been the staple of the camping industry for many years. Those who still have one will probably want to keep it, as by now it should bring back more than a few happy memories. You will also be used to carrying it by now, and that is the one real disadvantage of this type of tent. They are heavier and bulkier than other more modern types of tent.

If you are in the market for a new tent, however, you have a difficult choice to make. Do you stick with what you know and can trust, or do you embrace the new technology which you may know nothing about? There is always an understandable reluctance to move away from what you know, and it is important to weigh up all of the possibilities. If you have been the slightest bit bothered by the weight or bulk of your old style tent, then you should definitely think about changing to a dome tent.

Dome tents are lighter and less bulky, meaning they are far easier for a hiking camper to carry. The extra space you will have to devote to other things could be a massive help to you. If you don't hike but carry your tent in a vehicle, the change will not be noticed anywhere near as much, but you may still be grateful for the extra space. It is also suggested by some that dome tents are easier to erect, but that is not always the case.

A 1 man tent is obviously not going to be roomy, but the curved poles used in a modern dome tent do create a bit of extra room. This can be important if you are storing more than just sleeping bags and a few bits of bedding. Although the extra room can't really be used as storage unless you are able to stack things on top of each other, it is still useful breathing space. Tents can be shipped from anywhere, so make sure you use the power of the Internet to find the best choice for you amongst the many different types of 1 man tent.
